Is Raindance an AI song?
No. Raindance is a real song by Dave and Tems, released on the 2025 album The Boy Who Played the Harp. It was not written or sung by AI. The confusion comes from the phrase "Raindance AI," which people use for something else.
What "Raindance AI" actually means
When people search for Raindance AI, they usually mean the video trend. People make short, AI-generated clips of themselves, their partner or their friends, set to the song, and post them on TikTok and Reels. The "AI" is the video technology that turns photos into a moving clip. It is not describing the music.
If you want the background on the format itself, our Raindance AI trend page explains the pier scenes and where the trend came from.
What our videos sing
We make the video, not the song. Raindance AI is an independent fan tool. We are not affiliated with Dave, Tems, their label or TikTok.
When you generate a video, you have two sound choices:
- The default: an original song sung in the video. It is not the Raindance song and it is not a copy of it.
- Silent: the video has no music, and you add the Raindance sound yourself inside TikTok or Reels.
We never provide the original audio, in any option.
Why we cannot just use the original recording
The recording of Raindance belongs to its artists and their label. Putting it into a video file that we generate and hand to you would mean copying and distributing it without permission, which is not something we can do.
Social platforms are different. TikTok and Reels have licensed sound libraries, so the same song can be attached to your video inside the app in a way that the platforms have agreed with the rights holders. That is why Silent exists. You get a clean video with no competing audio, and the platform adds the real sound legitimately. Availability of any particular sound can vary by platform and region, so check inside the app.
What the video is
A Raindance AI video is vertical 9:16, 720p and about 12 seconds. You can use two photos for a duet clip (see the duet Raindance AI page), or one photo for Solo (see the solo Raindance AI page). There are three scenes: Golden-hour pier, Rain on the pier and Reception lights, and you can read about the rain on the pier page and the wedding and anniversary page versions.
Only adult photos are accepted and celebrities cannot be used. See the Raindance AI examples page for finished clips.
