What is the Raindance AI trend?

The Raindance AI trend is a short vertical video format where two people (or a person and a pet) are placed into a seaside scene set to the song "Raindance." One of them waits on a wooden dock. The other sings to them. It has spread across TikTok and Reels because it looks like a mini music video and takes only two photos to make.

Where the song comes from

"Raindance" is a song by British rapper Dave featuring Nigerian singer Tems. It was released on October 23, 2025, as the fifth track on Dave's third album, The Boy Who Played the Harp. The official music video, filmed in Lagos, Nigeria, followed on January 9, 2026. In the UK, the song reached number one on the Official Singles Chart in January 2026.

The shot-by-shot format

The Raindance AI format follows a simple sequence:

  1. The dock. On a sunny day, Person 1 sits at the end of a wooden dock, looking out and waiting.
  2. The close-ups. Person 2 sings to them in close-ups on the beach.
  3. The sand. The two of them sit together on the sand.
  4. The sunset. The clip ends with both of you side by side at sunset.

That small arc, from waiting to together, is why the video feels sweet even at 12 seconds.

Why people make the Raindance trend with AI

Recreating the scene for real needs a beach, a dock, good weather, and a second person willing to sing to a camera. With an AI video generator, you only need two clear photos. That makes the Raindance trend easy for long-distance couples, friends in different cities, and anyone who would rather not film themselves.

It also works for people who cannot be in the same place. Each photo is processed separately, so the two of you never need to be photographed together.

  • Couples. The classic version: one partner waits, the other sings.
  • Best friends. A funny, affectionate take on the same scene.
  • Siblings. Often posted for birthdays or as a surprise in the family chat.
  • Pets. A dog or cat in the dock role is a common favorite.
  • Grandparents and family. Adult relatives, with their permission, make warm versions.

How to make a Raindance AI video

With Raindance AI, upload one photo for the person on the dock and one for the singer. Wait a few minutes. Download your 9:16 video, then add the trending Raindance sound inside TikTok or Reels. Your file is silent, so the sound you pick plays cleanly.

For best results, use clear, front-facing photos with one person or pet each. Your first preview is free. See our step-by-step guide for the full walkthrough.
